What’s my WHY? Why do I work so hard to be the healthiest version of myself and why do I want to help others become theirs?
I started my on fitness journey over 10 years when my unhealthy lifestyle caused me gut problems such as food sensitivities and IBS. In 2017 I lost my father to addiction and mental illness. For me, it’s always been more than the physical aspect of our health. It means nothing without our mental and emotional health. It’s all connected and we need alignment in body, mind and spirit.
It’s about coming back to the basics. Food and movement is medicine. But if you’re constantly stressed, not sleeping, deprioritizing yourself and consumed with negative thoughts, it doesn’t matter how much you work out or how clean your diet is.
When you begin to understand your beliefs, perceptions and where your behavior comes from, and most importantly knowing that they can be changed is when you take control of your life.
I see it with clients all the time that aren’t honoring their nervous system or cycles, are in constant fight-or flight, and it’s causing different imbalances in the body. A lot of the times the results we desire won’t be there because of this, or at the cost of overworking our bodies which leads to burnout.
